On January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. Over 250,000 died and hundreds of thousands were left homeless. The earthquake was a tremendous blow to this poor nation, from which it will take years to recover. It also served as a call to action for us at Children’s Heritage Foundation. In the months following the earthquake, we sought ways to help the people of this incredible country. God revealed to us incredible opportunities. Today we are rebuilding an orphanage in the town of Croix du Bouquets and working to create a life-changing atmosphere there. We are also working in the small town of Merger, helping a local pastor through construction of a school and neighborhood development.
