I couldn’t help but think that somewhere along the way we had missed what was radical about our faith and replaced it with what is comfortable.

HAITI

On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. Over 250,000 people died and hundreds of thousands were left homeless.

This tragic event was a call to action for us at Children’s Heritage Foundation.  In the months following the earthquake, we sought out ways to help the people of this incredible country and were introduced to Good Rest Home, a campus of about 100 orphaned children living in tents and makeshift shelters. 

Today, through our ongoing partnership with the leadership at Good Rest Home, we are rebuilding this orphanage in the town of Croix-des-Bouquets and working to create a life-changing atmosphere there.

UGANDA

At the heart of Sub-Saharan Africa, Uganda has been ravaged by war, poverty and the largest aids epidemic ever.  250,000 children have been orphaned by aids alone.

The work of Children’s Heritage Foundation began in Uganda.  It is a beautiful country and home to some of the most hospitable, loving people one may ever meet.  Under the beauty, laughter and joy, lies a daily struggle to survive.  HIV/Aids has left countless children growing up without parents.  Malaria continues to claim too many lives.  Access to basic human needs is limited.  Today, Children’s Heritage Foundation is partnered with local ministries in Mukono, Wakiso Village and in the Northern Region of Gulu, helping to provide education, food, health care and economic self-sufficiency.
